Gift of the Givers Foundation
This South African organisation is the largest internationally-acclaimed non-governmental humanitarian disaster relief organisation of African origin on the continent.
Gift of the Givers has a history of service delivery to vulnerable populations throughout the world, improving the quality of life, finding solutions to complex situations and just simply trying to do the best they can is an essential part of their humanitarian service.
Sibusiso Ready Food Supplement (SRFS) was developed and piloted by Dr Imtiaz Sooliman, founder and Chairman of the Gift of the Givers Foundation. Through the disaster relief work it was noted that persons receiving food relief were still sub-clinically malnourished. The aim was to develop a nutritional supplement to meet the dietary challenges of people in disaster situations where there is limited access to clean, safe water, refrigeration and poor hygiene and sanitation practices.
